| Here are some ideas that will
help you to take full advantage of the courses: |
| |
Dedicate a little time to online learning on
a regular basis: aim to complete each module in 2 or 3 sessions. |
| |
Tell your friends and family about your course
- they can help you stay focused. If you're studying with other
people you know, perhaps you can form a study group and help
each other. |
| |
Make a learning schedule and keep to it. Mark
your assignment deadlines in your work diary. |
| |
Study online when you are at home, on business
trips, in a hotel. |
| |
Keep a vocabulary notebook of useful words -
refer to it when you're doing your assignments and writing in
English at work. |
| |
Copy down the main grammar points and ideas into
a notebook. Revise these along with previous online tutorials
before you start your written assignments |
| |
Decide on your personal learning goals before
you start the course. Think: "What do I want to be able
to do by the end of the course?" (for example, write in
a more friendly and informal way, write more clearly, impress
my boss with my next proposal etc). Keep these goals in mind
as you work. |
| |
Print out your assignments and keep them in a
folder by your desk. Refer to them when you come to write later
assignments or real-life documents. |
